Return to the Source était au départ un club fondé par Chris Deckker, d’après une fête pour le nouvel an en 1992 à Amsterdam, qu’il nomma Return to the Source. Déplacé à Londre, le concept évolua bientôt en boite de nuit, incorporant les rituels spirituels que Chris avait expérimenté dans ses voyages. Les DJ Mark Allen et Tsuyoshi Suzuki s’impliquèrent et Return to the Source prospéra rapidement. En 1995, le rêve d’une place festive pour des nuits entières de danses rituels fondées non pas sur le profit, mais sur la spiritualité, des valeurs païennes et des énergies positives devint réalité, et quand Return To The Source a déménagé à Brixton où il a également évolué en label. Matsuri Productions : Étiquette Goa Trance basée au Royaume-Uni, elle fut fondée en novembre 1994 par John Perloff & Tsuoshi Suzuki. Cette étiquette fut le domicile de projets importants trance comme Prana, Transwave, Ubar Tmar, Koxbox, Quirk et Digitalis. Matsuri Productions a depuis fermé.

Le mot Matsuri, dérivé du Japonais, signifie cérémonie ou rituel.

Tsuyoshi Suzuki est l’un des plus célèbre Dj de la scène Trance japonaise. Et cofondateur du label Matsuri Productions. En 1993, il déménage à Londre où il devint un important dj au Return To The Source. Il a également joué à quelques uns des plus célèbres événements de musique électronique, incluant The Berlin Love Parade, The Sydney Mardi-Gras, Fuji Rock Festival, Tribal Gathering, Fenix Festival, Rainbow 2000 et Earthcore. Andy Guthrie a travaillé comme musicien, engénieur de son et producteur depuis 1985 quand il a commencé une tournée européen avec l’orchestre multimédia de Leamington, Jackdaw with Crowbar, jouant des claviers et du violon. Il a subséquemment joué des claviers pour l’artiste bhrangra Johny Zee, pour le groupe reggae Tropical Dawn et en 1988 travaillé 6 mois au studio Island Records de Hammersmith, programmant un album reggae pour le producteur Paul « Groucho» Smykle. Il a cofondé Banco De Gaia avec Toby Marks en 1989, a produit l’album Sirius Sounds par Children of the Bong et a travaillé comme ingénieur de son pour Banco De Gaia et The Siren. Au début des années 90, il a travaillé avec Medicine Drum, Prana, eat Static, tristant, Si Wild et ManMadeMan et entre autre, à côté de ses propres projets 100th Monkey et Funkopath, travaillant indépendamment en spectacle et comme ingénieur en studio.

Nick taylor débuta la production de musique au Japon en 1991 en tant que Blissed avec Tsuyoshi Suzuki comme partenaire. Après s’être relocasé à Londre 1993, ils ont lancé l’album Rite of Passage sur le label Pod Communications de Francfort. Ils ont ensuite changé leur nom pour Prana et continué, pour les deux années suivantes, de produire de nombreux singles et l’album Cyclone sur Matsuri Productions, aussi bien d’un album sous le nom de taiyo pour l’étiquette française Step 2 house. Prana débuta également des apparitions en spectacles partouot en Europe sur la bourgeonnante scène Trance.

En nombre 1995, Nick se déplaça vers Byron Bay, laissant Tsuyoshi continuer le projet Prana à Londre. Nick débuta de nombreuse collaboration incluant Reflecta, Rhythmystec et Parasonix, aussi bien qye son projet solo Snake thing. Il lança de nombreux singles outre-mer, comme par exemple en Australie.

Nick début également un carrière de dj à ce moment, et il joue régulièrement depuis autour de l’Australie aussi bien que ces nombreux voyages outre-mer au Japon, USA, UK, France, Allemagne, Suède, Denmarque, Grèce, Portugal, Afrique du Sud, Chilie et Nouvelle-Zélande.

Sa musique a évolué constamment à travers les années du trance en passant par le Drum & bass, le break, le house et l’électro. Aujourd’hui sopn stryle reflète le large éventail de ses influences.

a- Return To The Source was originally a club founded by Chris Deckker, after a party in Amsterdam on New Years Eve in 1992, which he called Return to the Source. Drawn to London, a regular club night soon evolved, incorporating the spiritual rituals that Chris had experienced from his travelling. Dj’s Mark Allen and Tsuyoshi Suzuki became involved and Return to the Source quickly flourished. c-Nick Taylor : Nick started producing music in Japan in 1991 as Blissed with partner Tsuyoshi Suzuki. After relocating to London in 1993 they released the album Rite of Passage with Frankfurt label Pod Communications. They then changed their name to Prana and continued to produce for the next two years releasing numerous singles and the album Cyclone with Matsuri Productions, as well as an album under the name Taiyo for French label Step 2 House. Prana also started to do live shows around Europe in the burgeoning trance scene.

In November 1995 Nick moved to Byron Bay leaving Tsuyoshi to continue the Prana name in London. Nick began various collaborations including Reflecta, Rhythmystec and Parasonix, as well as his solo project Snake Thing. He released tracks with numerous labels overseas, as well as in Australia.

Nick also began his DJ career at this time, and has since regularly played around Australia, as well as many trips overseas to places such as Japan, USA, UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Portugal, South Africa, Chile and New Zealand.

His sound has constantly evolved over the years, from trance, through drum and bass, to breaks, house and electro. Today his style is a reflection of this wide range of influences.

The word Matsuri derives from the Japanese word meaning ceremony/ritual.

e- Tsuyoshi Suzuki is one of the most famous DJs in the Japanese trance music scene and the co-founder of the label Matsuri Productions. In 1993, he moved to London, where he became a prominent DJ at Return to the Source. He also played at some of the most famous electronic music events, including the Berlin Love Parade, The Sydney Mardi-gras, Fuji Rock Festival, Tribal Gathering, Fenix Festival, Rainbow 2000, and Earthcore. f- Matsuri Productions is a psychedelic trance record label located in the UK. It was founded in November 1994 by John Perloff and Tsuyoshi Suzuki. The label was home to such important acts as Prana, Transwave, Ubar Tmar, Koxbox, Quirk and Digitalis. Matsuri Productions has since been liquidated.

The name Matsuri comes from the Japanese Matsuri ceremony.
